Gas flow measuring units (GFMU) are designed to measure natural gas flow for commercial and process needs as per GOST 5542, to purify gas from impurities and to control gas parameters (pressure, temperature and upon customer’s request to receive gas characteristics: chemical composition, density, moisture and mechanical impurities concentration and heat combustion).
The gas flow measuring units (GFMU) are designed for operation in macroclimatic areas with moderate (N) and moderate cold climate (NF) as well in areas with cold climate (F).
GFMU is used in gas distribution systems with pressure up to 1.6MPa).
A gas measuring equipment is selected in accordance with a technical specification, taking into account a gas flow rate and ranges of its variation, pressure, range of gas temperature changes and the need for correction of readings.
As components turbine, rotary, ultrasonic and vortex meters can be used. If it is necessary to control gas parameters, a chromatograph and a calorimeter are installed.
The GFMU design includes a filter that excludes damage of the measuring system, thereby exceeding the GFMU resource as a whole.
The gas flow measuring unit that is placed in a block container can be equipped with a gas contamination control system, a fire and security alarm as well as an automated process control system for gas flow measurement that provides a remote transmission of information on measured parameters and alarm signals to the control panel via channels of a leased or telephone line, GSM, etc.
-in a cabinet – SHURG and PURG series;
- skid-mounted – UURG series.
The gas flow measurement cabinet of SHURG series is a thermal insulated metal cabinet with process equipment for a volumetric gas flow measuring inside this cabinet. For convenient maintenance the cabinet has open-wide doors. For heating during cold period in the lower part of the cabinet there is a heater as well inside this cabinet there is a chimney. The inner space of the cabinet is heated from a heated surface of the chimney. There is a temperature sensor on the chimney. This sensor controls the heater switching off if there is any overheating of the chimney surface.
